Sonya Castro is an elementary art teacher in San Antonio, Texas. After 11 years in the general education classroom, Sonya entered the world of art education In 2016!  She is passionate about empowering students to access and express their one-of-a-kind perspective through the visual arts. Often deterred by a step-by-step guided approach to teaching kids art, Sonya encourages students to reach the “artist zone” where infinite possibilities for artmaking exists.  She believes that each student has a great wealth of creativity that only they can access and bring into the world. Sonya has a BA in Education and a MA in Instructional Technology. She loves using technology to enhance student learning.
